Chef Naj has been auditioning new recipes for a place on our dessert menu. Pulling from his global influences and Middle Eastern heritage, he’s perfected several that are now available for ordering - just in time for Ramadan-related events. They'll be added to our menu soon. If you'd like to order these delicious options in the meantime, just reference this blog post when you inquire about your event.
The new desserts include:
- Shirpera: An Afghan milk fudge made from pistachios. It's like a nutty, rosy nougat. (Pictured above on left)
- Cardamom Snickerdoodle Cookies: Like the American-classic, Naj’s version of these buttery favorites is infused with cardamom for a distinctive, comforting bite. (Pictured on left on the red plate.)
- Basbousa is like a nutty, moist corn bread with hints of rose, lemon, butter and honey. (Pictured on red plate, second from left.)
- Semsmieh: This Lebanese sesame candy resembles peanut brittle and is made with lots of butter, sesame seeds and sugar. (Pictured on red plate, third from left.)
To complement these desserts, we’re offering Sheer Chai, a milk-based tea with a dash of honey and cardamom.
